This Weeks News (5 Min)
#1 News of Week
The scientist who invented mRNA technology has blown the whistle to warn the public that “bird flu” is a hoax designed to push more “vaccines.” World-renowned virologist Dr. Robert Malone warns that “bird flu” is a “psychological warfare operation.” He warns that reports of “bird flu” are meant to instill fear in the public so pharmaceutical companies can cash in on more mass vaccinations.
#2 News of Week
First, what is CRISPR? It is a Nobel Prize winning (of course) “gene editing” technology, long hyped-up as a revolution in health and medicine, and advertised as absolutely 100% functioning and real method for making genetically modified organisms (GMOs) of animals, plants and even humans. ( I became aware of this program back in 2022), but it seemed to be buried by the C19 noise.
Spotlight Therapeutics, a startup with a bold vision for delivering CRISPR therapies into the body without the need for viral vectors or lipid nanoparticles, has shut down.
A preprint published on bioRxiv on New Year’s Eve reveals that the company struggled to get enough of its CRISPR treatment into cells. Even when the therapy was injected directly into the eye, only 7% of retinal cells were edited, on average, in mice. The editing rate was less than 1% in minipigs, a larger lab animal sometimes used as a stepping stone to clinical trials.
Haak-Frendscho said the company “executed a transaction that was good for our investors” in late December. A source familiar with the move said that Spotlight was folded into a16z-backed Stipple Bio, a spinout of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center that’s still in stealth.
Spotlight’s shutdown comes amid the toughest year for the gene editing industry since CRISPR was invented in 2012.
#3 News of Week
The US Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has announced the creation of a new sub-agency within the CDC focused on vaccine injuries, as well as long COVID and Lyme disease.
Brian Hooker, Ph.D., chief scientific officer for Children’s Health Defense, welcomed Kennedy’s announcement, describing it as an “excellent” development. “It is also very sad that agencies within the HHS are ‘selling’ data to other agencies rather than having broad data-sharing both within the HHS, as well as with independent scientists,” Hooker said. “If we are ever going to get to the bottom of the causes of the chronic disease epidemic, independent researchers will need all of the relevant information that our tax dollars have paid for over so many years.”

What Our Logo Means
The logo for Manitoba Stronger Together incorporates elements that symbolize unity, community, and the strength of the bison.
Bison Icon: Is a silhouette of a stylized representation of a bison, symbolizing strength, resilience, and unity. The bison is depicted in a side stance, representing progress and moving together as a community.
The vertical stripes: represent that the movement includes all people from all walks of life, all beliefs and all political affiliations.
The Horizontal Connecting Lines: across the bison represent the connections and interdependence of community members, emphasizing the concept of being stronger together.
Blue Tones: The blue in the logo design represents growth, harmony, and the natural beauty of Manitoba's landscapes.
Dynamic Font: We choose a strong and modern bold font for the organization's name "Manitoba Stronger Together" to convey a sense of confidence and forward-thinking.
Let us continue to unite, ignite our passions, and work towards building a stronger and united Manitoba. Together, we will shape the future we want and deserve.
Keep an eye out for our next meeting announcement, and let us walk this transformative journey as one!
